HP Envy 6100e stuck on print alignment

问题描述

I am experiencing a problem with my HP Envy 6100e series printer (about 1.5 years old).

It doesn’t produce the alignment page or any other document. It seems to accept print commands normally, but no paper is fed, and no printing process starts at all. The printer shows as “Ready” on the computer, and there are no visible error messages on the device or in HP Smart.

I’ve already tried the following steps without success:

  • running HP Smart diagnostics and troubleshooting tools
  • uninstalling and reinstalling the printer software and drivers
  • restarting both the printer and the computer, by also disconnecting the power cable

Despite this, the issue persists. The printer remains stuck as if it is waiting to complete the alignment process, but it never actually prints the alignment page or any test page.

Hi @Sele04,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I hear that your printer accepts jobs but does not feed paper or print the alignment page. HP guidance suggests checking these common causes first:

  • Check for printer error messages on the printer display and follow any on-screen instructions.

  • Verify the connection:
    • If using USB, disconnect and reconnect the cable.

    • If using wireless, confirm the connection is working.

  • Make sure the printer is not paused or offline in the print queue.

  • Confirm it is the default printer on your computer.

  • Restart the print spooler and clear the print queue.

  • Restart the computer.

  • Check the power and reset the printer:
    1. Make sure the power cord is firmly connected.

    2. If the printer is on, unplug the power cord from the printer and the wall outlet.

    3. Wait at least 15 seconds.

    4. Plug it back in and turn the printer on again.

  • If alignment is failing, HP recommends making sure unused plain white paper is loaded. If colored paper is loaded, alignment can fail.

  • If alignment continues to fail repeatedly, HP says you may need to clean the printhead, or the printer may have a defective sensor.

  • For print-quality or alignment issues, HP also recommends:
    • checking that the correct paper type and print quality are selected,

    • checking ink levels,

    • printing a diagnostics/test page if possible,

    • and running Clean Printhead/Clean Ink Cartridges from the printer maintenance tools.

I hope this will help.

Take care and have a good day.
